The first Henderson of our family to reach Cape Breton was James Henderson who came to Cape Breton from Scotland. James Henderson was born on June 22, 1877 in Crawford John, Lanarkshire, Scotland. His father was Thomas Henderson who was a shephard in Scotland. He was born in Aireshire c1822 and lived with his mother in Glenbuck for some period of time. He died in Aireshire in 1908 at the age of 86.
